Raven sightings
Ravens are one of my favorite animals and I was lucky enough to see some on this trip. I wasn’t aware ravens lived in Yosemite and I was so happy and literally had to stop every time I came across any. Unfortunately I didn’t photograph any ravens—I was too slow to grab my phone and I wanted to watch them do bird things (I’m still bummed I didn’t capture any moments 😭 they’re so cute and silly).
This was also my first time seeing ravens in real life and OMG they are huge! I know crows and ravens differ in size but seeing the latter in real life really put into perspective just how different both are in terms of size and even the way they walk. They’re such beautiful creatures and I wish I lived near some. I’m really glad I was able to see them at Yosemite!
Bear sighting
I was also lucky enough to see a bear! It was pretty small and I’m guessing it was a juvenile. Like the ravens on this trip, I wasn’t able to photograph the bear because it was such a spontaneous moment. It was running across the road and I was too surprised and amazed. It also stood on its hind legs to check its surroundings once it went into the fields—it was so cute! I never thought I’d see one on this trip!
