Tomodachi Life Living the Dream: Log 2

Nanako greeting me on the title screen.

So far I’m loving Living the Dream!

My Switch ran into another problem

I ended up running into another problem with my Switch and this time it was the touch screen. A section of the touch screen kept popping out of the console and this meant the adhesive used to connect the touch screen to the Switch itself was no longer working. When I had replaced the LCD screen awhile ago, I didn’t replace the old adhesive because I thought I could reuse it. Turns out when I was removing the touch screen to get to the LCD screen, the heat from my hairdryer most likely removed the adhesive from that specific area.

Basically, the original Switch has two screens (the touch screen digitizer is on top while the LCD screen is on the bottom) and in order to get to them, you’ll have to open up the entire console. The touch screen connects to the Switch with the help of an adhesive and to be able to remove that screen from the console, you’ll need a heat source to help weaken the adhesive. For someone who rarely works with electronics, this entire process does take me a long time to get through and I wasn’t exactly looking forward to doing that again, lol (I wanted to play my games!). I did end up getting some new tools in hopes to make it easier for me to take the console apart and thank goodness the new tools did help. The previous tools I used for when I was replacing the LCD screen weren’t as cooperative but were good enough to get the job done.

So I opened up the Switch for a second time and thankfully it only took around 2 hrs instead of 3 hrs. I used some 2mm tesa double-sided tape to replace the old adhesive and so far it’s worked. The touch screen hasn’t shown any signs of popping out of the console! Hopefully this is the last time my Switch runs into any more problems.

My Current Miis

My current Miis.

Here are my current Miis as of right now.

From the top, left to right: Hatsune Miku, Rin and Len Kagamine, Kaito, Luka Megurine, and Meiko. They're Vocaloids.

The 2nd row: Jake Long from American Dragon, Danny Fenton from Danny Phantom, Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair from The Addams Family, Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked, Lady Pin and Princess Anin from The Loyal Pin, my OC Orion, and another OC named Leo. I ended up deciding to add Orion on the island but I'm still going by the name, Orion, in the game.

The bottom and last row: OCs Nanako, PhiPhi, Chase and Chance from me and my friends' video game that's still in development (it's called A Tear in the Canvas), my OC twins Apple and Henry, Peridot and Lapis from Steven Universe, Max Caulfield and Chloe Price from Life is Strange, and my OC Olivia.

Apple, Henry, and Leo: my first ever Miis from the Wii era

About Apple, Henry, and Leo: they are the first Miis I ever created on the Wii back in the 2010s. So far I've added them on any Nintendo console I own that has a Mii Maker and I thought it would be cool to add them onto my island. Also, apples are one of my favorite fruit and one of my favorite names in general so that's why I have an OC and it's part of why my island is named after it (the other big reason is because it's a reference towards Nanako). All three characters are related; Apple and Henry are twins while Leo is their older cousin.

1. Apple

Apple's general profile card.

Between the twins, Apple is older, an introvert, and slow at times. It takes her a while to understand what's happening and she's also just usually chill.

2. Henry

Henry's general profile card.

Henry is an extrovert who's mischievous and he loves collecting stuff.

3. Leo

Leo's general profile card.

Leo's ponytail.

He's got a ponytail so here's a screenshot of that.

Leo is a sporty nerd who loves video games and swimming.

2. First Miis to go on a vacation!

I decided to give the first vacation to my first Mii in LTD who's Nanako. She also invited Chance and PhiPhi to go with her.

3. Max & Chloe are now married and have a house

First couple to get together and first to get married.

Max and Chloe on their wedding day.

The proposal mini game from the 3DS gave me so much stress and I’d usually mess up or fail the challenge. The one for LTD is a similar experience. I ended up failing the challenge on my first attempt, and poor Chloe couldn’t properly propose to Max. I think it’s a combo of I didn’t know what to expect (and there’s no way to redo the minigame multiple times to get used to the controls like how it’s done in Mario Party) AND how important this minigame is to the Miis (and me 🤣).

Thankfully I eventually was able to succeed in helping Chloe propose to Max… but I was too stressed out from the minigame that I couldn’t really pay attention to the wedding scene LOL. I was able to take screenshots tho.

4. Some nice and random screenshots I like
