4 Elements Air thoughts Part 1
I’m currently watching 4 Elements Air and reading the book it’s based on. So far I’m enjoying the show (the book is also a fun read) and I think the team’s doing a pretty good job with their adaptation of this season.
With that said, I’m curious about how they’ll handle the finale since the last half of the story in the book is long/similar in length to the first half of the book which the show has spent majority of its time in. I wish this season had more than 8 episodes (imo 9 or 10 would’ve been nice) to give more time for the team to focus on the last half of the book.

Afterworld is getting a second chance!!
Wonderful news!!! 🎉 I’m glad this movie has another chance after getting cancelled by Sony a few months ago.
Matt Braly and from what I heard Rebecca Sugar are working on this project and as someone who loves their previous works (ex. Amphibia and Steven Universe), I’m excited to see this film.

I fixed my Switch!
I was successful at fixing my Switch and it took me 3 hours! I felt so much joy and relief when the screen started running normally again. Now I can finally play Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream!!!
Also, the tutorial I ended up following was by Dack’s Electronic Repair.
I didn’t take many photos during the process because I wanted to concentrate on what I was doing (and not break anything or mess up lol), BUT I did take a picture of the new screen before applying it to the console 😁

Gonna attempt to fix my Switch
Update on my Switch: the screen is still malfunctioning and after doing some more research, specifically it’s the LCD screen that’s not working properly. There are multiple colorful horizontal lines that appear on the screen now at all times. So the touch screen (I learned it’s called a touch screen digitizer), which is sitting on top of the LCD screen, is fine, thank goodness. As someone who isn’t super familiar with tech stuff, I actually didn’t know the Switch has two screens so this was new news for me!
I’ve also decided to try and fix my Switch. I do enjoy making stuff but this will be the first time I’ll be working with electronics. To help make the situation not be so overwhelming, I’ve been watching and reading some tutorials. Now I’m excited to fix my Switch!
Hopefully the damage isn’t as severe and my Switch can be saved 🤞 I’m not sure yet if I’ll make a proper blog post about this entire situation but for now, here’s a brief update on where I am.

My Switch’s screen is damaged. A few months ago my 3DS’s SD card got corrupted and had to be replaced and now my Switch is having problems 😭

Made some changes here
I’ve decided to delete my Mastodon and Pixelfed accounts since I don’t really use them. However, I did end up keeping my Bluesky account. With all that said, I’m still taking a break from social media.

My Current 3DS Theme!
I'm really happy with my current 3DS theme! 😁 This one is based off of SNSD’s 1st Asia Tour.
"Complete" by SNSD is one of my favorite songs so I decided to make a theme for it. I also did use SNSD's live recording for the bgm. For anyone interested in also having this theme, here's the link.
Recently, I did put a screen protector on both screens so that’s why it might look a bit funny. It does look fine irl and you don’t really notice it.

I finally finished watching Revolutionary Girl Utena!
I finally finished Revolutionary Girl Utena a few days ago and it’s pretty good! I can definitely see why it’s such an influential show.
Also, holy cow. As someone who loves Steven Universe and knowing how the creator of that show, Rebecca Sugar, said Utena was one of the works that influenced SU, you can really notice it.
For anyone interested in watching Utena, I do recommend reading a content/trigger warning list beforehand (I recommend this extensive one). For me, there’s some stuff that I didn’t know would appear in the show and it was part of the reason why I had to put it on hold for a while. I went in thinking it was going to be a lighthearted magical girl anime but the show ended up dealing with heavy and potentially triggering themes. Utena does treat these in a mature and respectful manner. With all that being said, I do recommend watching the show.

There will be a new The Owl House graphic novel coming out later this year and I'm so excited to read it. From the description, it looks like it'll mostly be about King and how he'll be dealing with his immortality.

Taeyeon’s Panorama song
I just realized Taeyeon released a new song about a month ago AND it’s her anniversary song + song for fans 😭 I’m late but it’s better to be late than to completely miss it! This recent song she’s released, Panorama, is awesome! I absolutely love it, and the music video is so sweet! Love the meaning behind it.

Vintage Pikachu plushie makes a return for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary
I never knew how popular and loved this version of pikachu (lovingly referred to as “fat pikachu” and “chonkachu” by the fandom) is until recently. This version is also my favorite because I find the design to be cuter than the current one. I also have the older version of this plushie from my childhood and I’d actually use it as a prop for my Ash Ketchum cosplay. Pokémon is a big part of my childhood and that cosplay means a lot to me. So you can imagine my surprise when I found out how much this plushie means to the fandom! I’m glad so many ppl love this version of pikachu!
Anyway, I wanted to talk about this adorable plushie because it’s coming back for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebration. At the moment, it seems like it’ll only be available in Japan. Haven’t seen anything about an international release.

Down with a cold so I watched both FNaF films
Currently have a persistent cold and I decided to finally watch the Five Nights at Freddy’s films. I did enjoy both films!
Also, one of the thoughts that kept coming across my mind while I was watching was, “Lydia from the Beetlejuice cartoon and Abby from the FNaF movies could totally be friends.” And now I want to draw fanart of that.

My 3DS SD card broke
Unfortunately the SD card I use for my 3DS is now broken. Lately it’s actually been malfunctioning a couple times so I should’ve seen this coming. This also might be connected to why my Tomodachi Life save data got corrupted a few days ago. This sucks! Now I really lost my Tomodachi Life island 😭

Mayoi Uta and How It’s Done on repeat
Silent Hill f’s “Mayoi Uta” and Kpop Demon Hunters’ “How It’s Done” have been stuck in my head for the past couple of days. Love these songs!
I also finished watching Ollie Dreamer’s playthrough of Silent Hill f. I like it! The story and characters were interesting, and the music and atmosphere were really good. This is also one of those games that has me thinking about it after it’s finished. Imo it’s a terrific horror game.

Foxes and Kitsune
I didn’t realize how much ppl love kitsune. I’m aware of how popular foxes are so obviously this meant mythical foxes too.
I say this mostly because of how much it’s represented in Silent Hill f, there’s a new kitsune Build-A-Bear, and a kitsune plushie option in two Backerkits I’m following.

I remember reading the comic on DeviantArt yrs ago and loving the art. The creator, Tracy Butler, would make these art tutorials and I’d follow them, especially the ones on expressions. I love how Butler draws and captures expressions!

Struggle with tech
I guess one of the reasons why I’ve been procrastinating with sharing older art is how I’ve always struggled with prepping art in the digital space. I’ve also switched from Photoshop to GIMP and that’s a big change for me. I keep fighting with the program and that makes for an unpleasant experience my brain doesn’t want to deal with. Hopefully I can get the hang of using GIMP because I miss sharing art.
Rewatching Porco Rosso and seeing how beautiful the animation is just has me in an art mood!

Some cleaning here
I’m trying to decide what would be fine to share. There were some posts I had to unshare (all related to the Wednesday show) because I wasn’t satisfied with how I wrote them or they were too negative and I don’t want that kind of energy on my blog. I thought to myself, “maybe I should just focus on art and channel my frustrations through that.” I have an AU for Wednesday I’d love to make comics for but I keep procrastinating on actually working on it. I’ve also been having a pretty mean art block, hence the procrastination and why I haven’t been posting any art. I want to share some older art so I’ll try to do that (no guarantees tho! 😅).
Anyway, I’ve actually been going back and forth on if I should keep some of those posts up. We’ll see what I eventually decide on.

The Last of Us show & Life is Strange show
I remember when I first saw The Mandalorian one of my first thoughts was, “this scene reminds me of the ending to The Last of Us” and “it would be cool if Pedro Pascal could play Joel in the tv show.” Then he was cast as Joel and he did a pretty solid job!
I had a similar experience when I watched A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder but with Life is Strange. The show reminded me of the videogame and I thought Emma Myers would be a good choice to play as Max Caulfield. I wonder if my hunch is true lol I was able to unintentionally predict Joel’s casting so maybe the same will happen with Life is Strange.

LiS 1 show in development announcement
A Life is Strange 1 tv show is currently in development at Prime Video.
I wonder if anything will actually come out of this since it’s been in production hell ever since the game came out yrs ago. I hope it does well if it does happen! LiS 1 is one of my favorite games. I’d be really happy if Emma Myers plays Max Caulfield. She has mentioned the game being one of her favorites and Max being one of her dream roles. I think she’s perfect for the role 📸🦋
My main worry is how no one from DontNod is involved and they’re a big reason why the game did so well. I also know they don’t want anything to do with the franchise anymore so maybe someone did try reaching out but DN declined.

Bloom and Rage finished
Finished watching a Lost Records Bloom & Rage let’s play and without saying any spoilers, I forgot how DontNod’s games can get intense so I was caught off guard a couple times 😭 overall I did enjoy the game.

I’ve been wanting to play Lost Records Bloom & Rage since it was announced but atm I don’t have any of the devices that can play it. I finally decided to watch a let’s play of it (Jazzyguns’) and so far it’s good! The mystery, found family, characters, mostly chill atmosphere and some horror elements, etc—I’m loving it! I hope I can eventually play the game myself some day.

K-pop Demon Hunters was pretty good! The animation was beautiful and I love the characters and storyline. The concept was also interesting. I’m a gen 2 k-pop person and I love animation so it was cool to see both of my favorite things together!
